Dental Exam and Prophylaxis (Cleaning)

It is recommended to have a dental exam every 6 months.  At Radiant Star Dental, we discuss any patient concerns, take x-rays, and create treatment plan necessary for the patient.

We also perform full mouth cleaning along with oral hygiene instructions.  Dental Prophylaxis is an excellent procedure to remove any plaque (bacteria) and calculus buildup. It also helps keep the gingiva (gums) healthy.

Restorations- Composite (white) fillings

Restorations- Composite (white) fillings

For any tooth decay, also known as a cavity, the first thing to do would be to remove the decay and place a filling to preserve the tooth.

We provide composite fillings that are esthetically pleasing in the way they match the tooth color.  We also provide more traditional types known amalgam (silver) fillings.

Crown

When a tooth has large decay either new or under an existing filling, or has fractured due to some event and it cannot be restored with fillings, then a crown is the next option to go for.

Crown is a tooth colored cap that is cemented on the tooth in order to restore it. Usually it’s a two-visit process where on the first visit we prep the tooth, choose a shade to match the tooth, take an impression, which is then sent to lab. On the second visit the crown is cemented on the tooth.

Bridge

If teeth are missing, then bridge is a replacement option. It is composed of several crowns joined together with support for the missing tooth replacement coming from the teeth in front and back of the missing teeth.

Implant Crowns

Another option to help with missing teeth. An implant is essentially a screw placed in the area of the missing tooth. After a few months of healing, an implant crown is placed directly on the implant to help replicate a normal tooth.

Root Canal Treatment

Root Canal Treatment

If decay has reached the pulp (nerve), an active infection is present with or without symptoms, or if the tooth has had trauma, which has produced symptoms, then a root canal treatment helps save the tooth.

The decay is removed, the pulp is accessed and the pulp along with canals is cleaned. The canals are then filled in order to help heal the tooth and ultimately the tooth is restored, usually with a build up and a crown.

ORAL SURGERY

Extractions

If a tooth cannot be saved then the tooth needs to be extracted out. We perform simple and surgical extractions.

Dentures

Dentures

A replacement option when teeth are missing or have been extracted, dentures are removable appliances. From missing one, few or all teeth, various types of dentures are designed to fit the patient’s mouth and help restore their smile.

Scaling and Root Planing

Also referred to as deep cleaning, scaling and root planing is used to remove calculus and debris residing below the gingiva, on the root surface of the tooth.

Indicated for periodontal involved teeth with deep pockets, scaling and root planing helps remove bacteria, reducing inflammation and preventing bone loss.

Chairside Veneers

Chairside Veneers

Indicated for misaligned, off colored teeth, a gap present in anterior dentition or a large chip, chairside veneers are  great alternative to crowns or porcelain veneers.

Done at a fraction of the cost and requiring only one visit, we use strong and
esthetically pleasing composite for bonding, restoring teeth and ultimately restoring a patient’s smile.
